NOS 70W Westinghouse Ceramalux Lamp
I was going to keep this NOS but light bulbs are meant to be used, not to lay at the bottom of a cardboard box... I was disappointed to find out that it starts off orangey/halogen just like a newer lamp, not blueish green like other older HPS lamps. :-|

I only have a few older HPS lamps that do the clear merc imitation when starting up.

The (probably original) ones in the gym at my school (Eww, a HPS lit gym!) do the clear-MV thing. They start off blue-grey then do the clear merc thing then whitish as the xenon kicks in then the familiar icky orange...it looks like 1984 for sure with the HPS outdoors and the T12s indoors with full-power ballasts...and the older 1979 part of the building is where those two "Old-School" troffers came from.

Ack! Indoor HPS, I think it was common sometime in the 80s to do that though. By the 90s it seems most new installs have switched to MH instead.

Yeah that's the one place I'd like to see HIDs replaced with F54T5/HO highbays, or even F32T8 ones.
