Does it have double loop like a Carbon filament? Looks like from the 1910's Confused
streetlight98   [Apr 03, 2013 at 01:58 AM]
yep it has the looped filament. Smile

this one is a very rare one Shocked it was made in about 1905 Cool
streetlight98   [Apr 04, 2013 at 12:53 AM]
really? Shocked cool! the glass is outside frosted and the glass feels more fragile than today's glass.
BULB FREAK   [Apr 04, 2013 at 01:33 AM]
yea even so out side frost had gone on most bulbs in 1925 Cool this one is VERY rare

I'll definetly hang onto this lamp. Cool

very cool! i have a columbia outside frost carbon filament bulb, its similar to this one and same age, but it has more of an A shape.

Thanks! I think it got cropped out of the pic, but if you look hard enough you'll see there's a tip in the lamp, just like with the neon lamp i have.

Shocked Very nice find! Do you what what voltage and wattage it was rated for? Older lamps might have a candlepower rating instead of a wattage rating though.
streetlight98   [Apr 04, 2013 at 11:26 PM]
thanks! I don't know anything about the electrical specs on the lamp. there's no markings what-so-ever on it. i looked really hard for anything but there's nothing. I also noticed the tip is broken and there's a hole in top. I must have broken it when i wiped the lamp clean after testing it. Mad Rolling Eyes Crying or Very sad you can't really even notice it that well unless you know exactly the angle to look at it. Well, it makes a good display case lamp... I'll have to take my grandpa up on his offer for a display case or two when i get my own place. Maybe one for lamps and insulators and another for ballasts and miscellaneous parts like literature?

Ohhh.... That is shame that the bulb has lost the vacuum Sad
streetlight98   [Apr 04, 2013 at 11:59 PM]
yeah. Sad the filament is still intact though since i caught the pinhole before i lit it again. the hole is about as wide as a sewing needle/
joe_347V   [Apr 05, 2013 at 02:50 PM]
Sad Too bad the tip broke off, but seeing as the filament is still intact and this is a vacuum lamp it might be fixable. If you take it to the right person.
streetlight98   [Apr 05, 2013 at 07:24 PM]
yeah come to think of it, i washed the lamp BEFORE testing it so i don't know how it lit up and it's still intact... i'm not going to try to light it again though. even if it was perfect i don't think i'd be using it anyways since it's so old. i guess someday i could find someone who could fix it.
