Also notice that these have PLASTIC end caps. Ever heard of that? Confused

Yeah or Bakelite maybe ...Idk, nice find! I don't have a single agro lamp yet

Yeah, I have a Sylvania F30T8 with bakelite end caps too. When did Philips stop using them anyways, I have an appliance fluorescent from 1990 that still had the bakelite ends.

The appliance lamps I have are 1987 Phillips (I think ) they are Bakelite as well

Yep the lamps are 1975, the date code is the set of dots. Nice find!

Bakelite? Hmm. Never heard of that... Are all blackenders made with that instead of metal endcaps? Thanks Dave! How common are these AGRO-LITE lamps? Do these have a month stamped on there too or just the year?

Nice find!
I had a Philips Agro-Lite lamp at one time...

Thanks! I didn't realize they were plant lamps until I lit them. I had no idea what "AGRO-LITE" meant lol.

Bakelite are a type of plastic and usually brown in color...they are older types of plastics and the first plastic made.....if you rub that plastic with your finger it gives out a smell....

This is black so I guess it's not bakelite?
