120v is common for street lighting. Here in California most multiple wired street lights are 120v or 240v.

most in my area.....are 120 volts.....but I know some are from 240 volt or higher....but not too many....In matter of fact...the streetlight in front of my house is connected to the same transformer as my house as I was told.....I was told that the transfomer pathway connecting a few houses..and one streetlight...

Streetlights around here are 120 volts, the ones on the highways such as Route 28 are 240 volts.

Here they are almost always 120, but its 347V for high masts.
joe_347V   [Jan 17, 2011 at 01:15 AM]
Yeah, I think regular highway lighting is 347V too and the highmasts might be 600V.
gailgrove   [Jan 17, 2011 at 01:18 AM]
I don't know, none of the manufactures offer fixtures in 600 volt.
joe_347V   [Jan 17, 2011 at 01:36 AM]
Hmm I've always thought the highmasts with over 10 fixtures/pole were 600v because of the current draw.
GullWhiz   [Jan 17, 2011 at 01:40 AM]
I have seen some high masts in parking lot at O'Hares airport in Chicago and near the base on the pole on a door said "Warning High Voltage 800 Volts"
gailgrove   [Jan 17, 2011 at 01:41 AM]
No way, there aren't even any ballasts that have a tap that high Shocked
joe_347V   [Jan 17, 2011 at 01:42 AM]
Hmm I've never even heard of a 800v install before Shocked

All of the lights here on utility poles are 120v.
