Nice find, luckily our old street light contractor did refurbs on all there old lights so they don't get scraped! But the new company scraps everything Rolling Eyes I'm trying to save a Unidoor 400 that just lost its refractor (and I'm sure they won't replace it Sad ) from being scraped then I can just use a 125s refractor on it Smile

yeah sometimes u really have to stalk them Smile

The state always puts up new lights on projects where new lighting is installed or the lighting is redone, but they will save and refurb lights they take down and use them as replacements for failed or damaged lights.

Sargent Electric of Pittsburgh used to reuse older high pressure sodium streetlights in the city even mercury vapor ones.

well it's the old "we don't miss it till it's gone" then 50 yrs from now they can make plastic repo's from pictures taken today !

I used to take older lights for granted but now I have a greater appreciation for them than I ever did in the past.

i love all Old Light's....just about everything has become Boxy these days....alot of those Older Fixtures had an "Art Deco" Feel to them of sorts.

Nice, cool to see that you saved this nice fixture from being scrapped, I like the styling and the design of the older lights too.

I've seen the utility company here occasionally install older refurbed lights before but they mostly just install a new one and most likely scrap the old one.
prawnman88   [Jul 12, 2010 at 02:25 AM]
yeah thx jayce is helping me date it right now
LilCinnamon   [Jul 12, 2010 at 02:55 AM]
Can you do a side angle shot of this fixture?
prawnman88   [Jul 12, 2010 at 03:05 AM]
yeah i will in a few days
Tmcdllr   [Jul 12, 2010 at 06:59 AM]
Nice! Clean it up, put on some new paint and it will be good as new!
LilCinnamon   [Sep 24, 2010 at 11:01 PM]
Hey, didn't you say you had another one of these? I wouldn't mind having it it it is fine with you. (and if you are giving it away.)
streetlight98   [Feb 23, 2012 at 11:44 PM]
Hey Rych, do you have the date of this guy?
prawnman88   [Feb 24, 2012 at 01:03 AM]

streetlight98   [Feb 24, 2012 at 01:57 AM]
Ahh. Thanks.
prawnman88   [Feb 24, 2012 at 12:26 PM]
but the fixture is from 84 the power door was replaced at some point
streetlight98   [Feb 24, 2012 at 02:13 PM]
I noticed this has vents on the powr/door. Is this a M-400A full cut-off or an early M-400A2 FCO?
LilCinnamon   [Feb 24, 2012 at 02:26 PM]
Noticing the Bail latch on the front, yes this is an M-400 A2 FCO. One of the early ones. The M-400 A1 FCO had the spring latch then when they introduced the very-similar M-400 A2, they changed the spring latch to a bail latch and moved the PC forward a bit.
streetlight98   [Feb 24, 2012 at 02:54 PM]
Ahh. I didn't know if the M-400A FCO had the bail latch like the 70's M-250R1 did. strange how the M-250R1 had a bail latch but the M-250A, M-400, and M-400A didn't. The M-1000 seemed to have kept the 60's style "PUSH TO OPEN" latch though.
