I've mistaken these for HID lamps in post lanterns before when at a distance. If they made one without the coating, and a double-ended halogen bulb inside, I'd be all over it.

I remember seeing this in a wall fixture outdoors next to a garage door in neighbors house...and I thought it was ACTUALLY an HID lamp (I never saw that lamp lit as far as I remember and that time I didn't know what the parts inside of an HID lamp was supposed to look like....

Alain, this isn't even halogen, this is just an incandescent!

That's unfortunate Joseph that you didn't get a chance to get one,I haven't seen these available around here anywhere,I found this one when I was in the States.Thanks Michael! These were selling for about $5.00 at Wal-Mart.
