It DOES look like it's been vandalized. I guess they have to make it "full cutoff", but it looks truly awful. If they had left the prismatic plastic (or better yet, glass) panels in the sides, it would be a lot better...and actually, probably less glary. It also needs LEDs of 3000K or warmer, and maybe put the light source in the bottom of the lantern & have it bounce off a reflector the top...

It does need panels...I like those older GE posttop streetlights but I always see them in HPS. The real offenders/ glare bombs are those globe-shaped post-tops, especially if they're HPS! Laughing
