Amazing eBay find!
Here's a cool Advance H38 F-Can ballast I found on eBay. The auction only had a few hours left when I came cross it, a day later and it was gone!

I got it for around 35$ shipped, which is a great price considering the other 100W F-Can ballasts I found were all over 70$ without shipping! The one I bought is located in Montreal, QC, which cuts the shipping costs significantly!

Note this is the eBay listing's photo, I'm too excited to wait for the ballast to arrive XD. All credits for the pic go to eBay seller Lights*Plus.

Yep it's a good price, I was considering whether to get it or not when it was posted here since shipping from Montreal would be a lot cheaper than the US but decided not to because I already had a lot of HID ballasts.

This is a 100 watt MV ballast? o.o This looks like a florescent one! Especially the wires.

I bet these aren't even made anymore.

They're the same size as a HO ballast, and they're still made, just not in MV anynore because of the ban.

What lamp types are they made with then?

HPS, MH and PSMH... Anyways nice find! I would take one of these if offered to me though they are on the top of my list. Smile

Yeah these are used in a lot of recessed HID lights although I think that's about it...

They're also used in some floodlights and bracket fixtures too.

It was part of a recessed kit. The kit had each part packaged seperately for easy shipping. H38 MV ballast for 100w MV lamp. I still have one more...pour moi!~ The one pictured is in the mail already. Happy New Year!

Happy new year too!

Nice find! @Ian, don't forget that fluorescent ballasts have wiring from both ends, this ballast has wiring on only one end, that tells you it is something different Wink

I think the smallest F-Can ballasts are as big as HO ballasts. The biggest ones must be huge!

Interesting that mine came from a recessed fixture kit! Can't wait to get it. Cool

I have two F can ballasts, one was a loose ballast and the other that came with a recessed light which as has a junction box attached. both are the same size as your typical HO ballast.

I believe the biggest F cans made are for 400w lamps they're the same height as the other ones but longer.
