I saw in Israel, general purpose area floodlights that uses high kelvin indium MH lamps, such as in my picture of a floodlight in Dado beach.

I know that in Japan, they use blue lights in rail road areas, because they believe it reduces suicide! I guess whoever tries to get run over by a train, but once they are under blue lights, they change their minds or forget about all their own sadness! Interesting eh?

yeah dosent make sense as blue colors are more depressing lol , i prefer red or maybe even HPS if i was that sad!
GullWhiz   [Nov 17, 2011 at 01:11 AM]
Ummmm Blue is very calming color......if ya think about it.....

They use HPS to light the waiting areas in our subway stations. Shocked

Other area of the platform get row mounted F32T8s with a unused incandescent emergency light every 6th lume.

Blue lights were used in alleys so druggies couldn't see their veins to inject themselves.... Their solutions was to just sharpie where their veins were though...
joe_347V   [Nov 17, 2011 at 02:25 AM]
They also applied that theory in public washrooms....................
streetlight98   [Nov 17, 2011 at 02:27 AM]
Washroom?
joe_347V   [Nov 17, 2011 at 02:31 AM]
Washroom, bathroom, toilet, restroom pick your choice. Laughing
streetlight98   [Nov 17, 2011 at 02:36 AM]
Ahh. a restroom sounds like a place that you rest, a bathroom sounds like a place where you bathe, and a washroom sounds like a place you'd either clean dishes or wash your hands. Laughing I wonder how all those terms came along for public facilities.....

Washroom can also work for showers too. xD

Ummmm do I see Liteway (LOA) florescent shoplights in the background? Love the color of that MH lamp though!
xmaslightguy   [Apr 14, 2012 at 06:38 PM]
Those blue MH lamps are an awesome color..I've seen them in use on aquariums at stores.
Would love to see a streetlight with one Smile

@GEsoftwhite100watts.. Those shoplights deff look like LOA's to me
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Apr 14, 2012 at 06:52 PM]
Yeah, wonder if they still have the original ballasts and bulbs... extremely unlikely!
xmaslightguy   [Apr 14, 2012 at 07:49 PM]
I liked the etch on those original LOA bulbs..wish I woulda saved one Smile (believe they were just re-branded GE's)
Ballasts in these _should_ be ok if you replace lamps before they go EOL, and don't use 34w lamps
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Apr 14, 2012 at 10:14 PM]
What happens with 34w bulbs?
xmaslightguy   [Apr 15, 2012 at 01:49 AM]
They can overheat/fry the ballast, especially on cool/cold locations
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Apr 15, 2012 at 02:13 AM]
Yeah, I think icefoglights had some do that in sub-freezing weather, the starters kept going, frying the bulbs. Can a regular preheat, rapid start, or electronic ballast be put in these?
xmaslightguy   [Apr 15, 2012 at 03:18 AM]
A 1-lamp LPF RS will fit (I have one fixture i converted to RS using 2 of those since the originals got fried..I'll have to see if I can find the pic I have of that thing (it also has a vid on YouTube))
Electronic will fit too if its one of the newer/smaller ones. (as would some of the 1-lamp preheaters)
A 2-lamp RS is too wide to fit weather its HPF or LPF.
