Sad state M-400 R3 Here is the M-400 R3 I found on the ground with the Tapered Elliptical arm. As you can see it's damaged, the slipfitter broke, the hinge is broken off, and the housing is bent so the door won't fit on. But in pretty good shape considering the fall.. If it fell. I assume the photocell is a dayburner as the google streetview showed this exact light dayburning. So now I got a spare 250 watt HPS ballast, I could put it in my M-250 R2, I probably will to make it more original. And I could put my M-250 R1 outside or something. Or I can get a spare housing of something and use it there. Keywords: American_Streetlights

I put this ballast in my M-250 R2 and it works like a charm! Gonna keep the ballast in the M-250 R2 this time. Now the NEMA tag on the M-250 R2 matches the ballast.

I'm surprised the fixture is still mostly intact, normally the housing would shatter.

I have a feeling that they might of took this down... But it was busted in a bit, maybe it did fall but the arm kept it in-tact.

I'm thinking the same thing as Joe. The arm is in perfect condition as it seems and the fixture in in rather good condition too...

Most likely if it somehow did fall the wires would hold it up. It is like how they roughly took down the OV-25 I wanted to get and broke it into pieces.

That's true. Streetlight connections aren't made with wirenuts and extension cord wire. Laughing At least if they're installed right they're not. Shocked

I have seen fallen arm and streetlight with an AE 115 the lineman was there too when I was there...the two bolts broke off the steel pole causing both arm and fixture to fall.....the fixture, the lamp was intact but the sag glass broke and the fixture looked fine, unless you turned it around there was one crack on the side.....so they don't always shatter.....

Plus the arm had a huge bend on the plate, by the bottom-left screw. That's why I guess it fell, and the impact bent the plate on the arm a bit.

Glad I found this fixture though. The door is in perfect condition and the ballast works well in my M-250 R2.
