I have gotten some lamps with E14 from a dollar store......weird!

Yep E14 is common as muck in Europe in the UK they are also known as SES or Small Edison Screw. they are also sold worldwide for use in Cookers, Fridges and Microwave Ovens, thus it's one way of getting a lamp socket is to try and find a old Cooker, Fridge or most microwave ovens.

I an currently doing this as I am looking for a E17 Internediate Lamp Socket, as used in the Sharp Microwave Oven.

All the Best

Look at your local dumpsite for a suitable donor microwave, if you can get it before the scrap vultures smash it apart. Why not just take another microwave lamp holder and put it in the Sharp, they are pretty much interchangeable. Sharp makes good microwaves, but they use generic spares inside.

Hi SeanB~1
Unfortunately the Problem with the UK is Health & Safety, we can no longer go searching in Dumpsites or Scrap Yards etc, Also with the Current European WEEE (Waste of Electrical & Electronic Equipment) all electrical appliances can nolonger be Dumped they heed to be picked up by the Local Council to be recycled/Disposed of. thus the only way is to find anything is to find places where Items have been flytipped (basically Illeagally Dumped) Re the E17 Lamp socket, Its actually for testing Lamps with which have E17 caps.

All the Best

Alternatively, you can find the E17 sockets on line shopping...

Except in the UK we can buy thr Bulbs for Microwaves but not the Lampholders, I even asked a few places who repair Microwave Ovens but have had no luck, I May buy one on the US, E-bay.

All the Best

I have seen bulbs with this shape on LG, called Pygmy lamps.

That's right Rick. They are sold exclusively outside North American market.
