My newest addition. M-400 R3.
Got it out of complete luck and good timing. I'm on my way back from work at Home Depot at 1:30 AM in the morning, and on my way back I catch someone working on the streetlight. I sit and watch and I see him take it down and then I come up and ask if I can have it. To my surprise he gave it to me and I got a new streetlight! I was pretty happy.

I asked "Is it broken?" And he said it was, but after I got home I tested it and it worked perfectly fine. But when I got it it had no ignitor and the ballast was still a bit hot because I think it was running a bit before I got it on the pole.

Actually as I upload the picture it hasn't been an hour yet since it's been taken down. An hour ago it was still on the pole and in service as I write this description at 2:20 AM on July 22, 2014.

But I tested it and it works fine. I think this is a good score!

As I write this comment, the light hasn't been off the pole for an hour yet.

An hour ago, the light in this picture was in service but not lit, and on the pole above the road. Isn't that kind of funny. xD

Nice score!!! I know what you mean by luck and good timing. When I was on my way home one day I caught a service crew starting the MV-HPS change out about 50 feet from my house. Needless to say I got the light off my street corner and a few others.

Talk about a quick grab! xD

The first streetlight I ever got was probably removed from service hours before it was given to me!

Wow! Nice. Smile This fixture looks pretty new too, what's the date? Do you still have any of your lights from before?
LilCinnamon   [Jul 22, 2014 at 05:36 PM]
This light is 2009. And I still have plenty of lights I had before, but my collection was cut down big time. But I was happy to get this one.
streetlight98   [Jul 22, 2014 at 06:28 PM]
Oh wow, looks a lot newer than 2009. Which lights did you have to get rid of? Did you keep the older ones like the L-150, OV-10, OVM, M-400A FCO, etc?
LilCinnamon   [Jul 22, 2014 at 07:09 PM]
I don't think I have the L-150, I DON'T have the OVM, the M-400 A FCO anymore, I still have the OV-10. I'm NOT getting rid of that one. xD

I have a lot of my small ones, I don't have the OV-25's anymore, it was sad to get rid of those, but yeah.. xD

I don't have the M-400 R2 that I got a long time ago, (My first streetlight) But I still have the other M-400 R2. Too much to list, but I got rid of a lot of lights. My parents practically forced me to.

I know how it feels... I was lucky enough to be able to store most of my stuff, but I'm afraid I might have to get rid of a good part of it eventually...
streetlight98   [Jul 22, 2014 at 09:43 PM]
Aw shame. I would have loved the L-150 and OVM (though I'm running short on room too!). At least you kept the important ones. Too bad about the silverliners but to be nonest I'm not a die-hard fan of the Westinghouse lights. I like the OV-15 though.

Right now I have my collection stashed away between five places:
the laundry room, where my 3ft and 4ft fluorescent lamps are, my HID lamps, my "residential" lamps (CFLs, incandescents, medium base HID, PL adapters), a few of my street lights (RMA NEMA, OVC, Chicago M-250R1, M-250A)

In the utility room I have my OV-10, my tool boxes, my 2ft and under fluorescent lamps, my fluorescent light fixtures, my miscellaneous items (refractors, ballasts, sockets, wire, etc).

Then there's behind the basement couch where I have a 4X F20T12 trigger start cloud/puff fixture, a case of 30 NOS GTE Sylvania F20/WW lamps, a partial case (3 of 6) NOS Sylvania 175W MH lamps from 2000, and a 2X F32T8/IS shoplight for my grandpa's shop.

Then there's my room where my LED street light is tucked away, my photocell box is, my F14T12 fluorescent lamp box is, my street light display pole is, and my small insulator collection is.

Then there is the fifth place, the shed, where I have my OV-25, M-400, and M-400A2, my traffic signal, my six Holphane highbays, my street light mounting arms (24", 2X 30", and 4ft). And Once we clear some boxes out of the shed I will have some more room for fluorescent fixtures and in the utility room we're gonna clear out some boxes so I can store two new cobraheads I'll be getting a week from this saturday.

Ahh nice to see you got a new light. It's a shame you had to get rid of some of your lights though.
