LEDs cooking alive in 106 degree heat
I'm enjoying watching them lit in this heat, hopefully dim em out lol! The Leotek toylet seat here has Philips Lumileds Luxeon high power emitters. When installed in June 2012, it had a bluish 6000K color temp, and it was very glary from the sides. Now, it dimmed a bit (measured only 4 lux on the pavement, a recent replacement measured at 6 lux) and the color looks closer to 4000K.

I thought they didn't need any maintenance for 20 years? Rolling Eyes

Just like how Alto HPS is rated for 24000 hours. Rolling Eyes

If LED street lights are supposed to last 20 years, then I have a 1982 Chevrolet Celebrity for sale. They won't even last for 5 years, let alone 20.
