Confederation Bridge, 1997
Here's a shot of the Confederation Bridge that links together PEI and New Brunswick looking towards PEI in the summer of 1997 shortly after it opened. Note the not yet in use incandescent 12-12-12 signal heads and the fibre optic blank out speed limit signs.

I believe they were still putting some finishing touches on the bridge as in 2005 the speed limit was raised to 80 km/h. The shoeboxes are HPS, unknown wattage.

Film scan of a 4X6 print.

Cool! I went across the Confederation Bridge in summer 2010! Something interesting is the signals have had the top green signal converted to LED.

Thanks! I visited PEI, in 1997, 2001, and 2005. I didn't know that they converted the signals though, I guess they did that after 2005.
