New 100w bulbs in Kalifornia? YUP!!!
Yesterday I got these Sylvania 100w bulbs. The 100w double life bulbs were bought in an 8 pack at a Family Dollar store (they are a newcomer here in CA). They have 38w, 57w, and 71w 4 packs normally stocked. The 100w Daylight Blue bulb was bought at the same lighting store where I got the 150w rough service bulb. It's probably not covered in the ban, but the 100w double lifes are not supposed to be here! All bulbs here are USA made.

Nice find! 100watters are still being stocked over here but I wonder how many stores in the US stopped selling them anymore.

Wal-Mart stopped. Mad they still sell the 90w GE lamps though but they're outsourced garbage.

texas is loaded with them, but who know a year or two down the line? i can still buy contractor packs of 130 volt sylvania bulbs 24 to a case.
good thing that these new comer store dont know the law will get pulled off ther shelf when they find out.

@Joe347, do you see any 100w bulbs with the 2012 date code? On the GEs it would be identified with a "2" on the etch. Here in California, most lighting and electrical stores still have 100w bulbs but it's mainly their existing stock. A very small number of Home Depot stores still have yet to sell out all the 95w soft whites.

By the way, I checked the date code. It is precisely December 2011 on the 100w soft whites!

@Dave no I haven't, but I'll check for you the next time I see a pack of 100 watters.

By the way you can call me Joe or Joseph. Wink

I still see 100 watt incandescent lamps being sold lots of places, Target, Wal-mart I think... And other places. I haven't seen any place stop selling them. Yet...
CrazyLamp   [Feb 25, 2012 at 02:35 PM]
it takes a good while for the stock to run out. if the ban took place. I am not going to worry too much in my home state
texas is a two face state. for one we have our own power grid isolated from the rest of the state. second they pass
the law with in the state texas to manufactor bulbs, and being a boarder country it make getting bulbs from mexico more lax
either way the law is just plain supid so the can outsource the job over seas.

@Dave, yep I think I saw a pack of 100w GE clears with a 2 on the etch today, most had the 2011 date code though.
