Ahh. I know it's aluminum as that's all we use.

I didn't say those were Econolite. They are Eagle/Siemens 12". The farthest left is Eagle ALUSIG. The ALUSIG is an aluminum version of the DURASIG (plastic). ALUSIG ran from 1977-1990 because Mark IV owned Eagle in the 1980s and were producing the signals that looked like the ones to the right. (but with logos on the back). In 1997 Siemens took over, and kept making the Mark IV design but with no logo on the back.

sorry. i got Eagle and Econolite confused. Embarrassed The signals facing this pic were retrofitted to LED in the 90's while the ones facing the other way were retrofitted in 2009 with non-pixelated LEDs. In 2009 the remaining incandescent signals were refitted with LED modules. There are probably a few miss-outs thoguh.

You guys retrofitted quite early on eh, we still had incandescent until 05-06 and there's still some miss outs in Toronto.

Only a few were retrofitted in the late 90's. I'm assumign it was a test type deal. Installations that were new after around 2000 or so were those pixelated LEDs. We started using the non-pixelated in 2008 and retroitted all our incandescents in 2009.
