Hmm a fight between two utilities or not?
The poles on the left are LADWP territory, and it powers the light on the right which is owned by SCE. What gives?! This is right on the border between South LA and Ladera Heights, an unincorporated community in LA county and is served by SCE.

Whoa! GOOD ONE! So the Median and the right side is owned by SCE but the left is LADWP huh? And yet that Median is being powered by LADWP instead of the one on the right eh? HOW WEIRD!!! GOOD ONE NICE FIND! FIVE STARS!!!!

Even BGE wouldn't power ONE PEPCO light and bypasses the wires...see here as a great example

Interesting, I'll have to take some pics of some utility fights in my area too.

Rhode island is so small it only has on electric company. Razz
Silverliner14B   [Oct 05, 2011 at 07:44 PM]
@Michael there are two in Rhode Island. A small area in northwestern RI has a small co-op and they have lots of Durastars, ugh! Previously there were 4 utilities such as Blackstone Valley Electric in Pawtucket and Woonsocket but they merged into National Grid.

California has 40 electric utilities ranging from city owned municipal utilities to big investor owned utilities such as PG&E and SCE.
streetlight98   [Oct 05, 2011 at 08:30 PM]
@ Dave, that is Pacoag Electric, but they are fed from National Grid.

Try RI and Connectiut border! I saw the Massachuttes and Connecitcut border and even NY and Conn. border...I saw between Conn and Mass....Mass had truss arms and as soon you get to Conn you see A frame and single guy arms
Antstar85   [Oct 05, 2011 at 10:42 PM]
we have towns here in mass that are fed by two Utilities.
GullWhiz   [Oct 05, 2011 at 10:49 PM]
Here too....you've seen my pics Tony!
Antstar85   [Oct 05, 2011 at 11:02 PM]
I sure have, crazy how that works. remember, here in western massachusetts, we have A-frames to. also along the CT border.

@ Jace, i don't go near the Connecticut/Rhode Island border. i have no reason to. Southeastern Mass and RI are both powered by N-Grid
GullWhiz   [Oct 06, 2011 at 02:35 AM]
Once in a while I would find a reason to go near someplace....to have pics LOL....
Antstar85   [Oct 06, 2011 at 02:41 AM]
@ mike, not all of southeastern Mass is national grid, towns just east of fall river area and points toward cape cod is all NSTAR and also a bunch of stuff toward Boston as well.
GullWhiz   [Oct 06, 2011 at 02:49 AM]
Is it easy to tell in Southeastern Mass by looking at streetlight poles/arms??? Or will you need to look at the pole tags
Antstar85   [Oct 06, 2011 at 02:52 AM]
Tags will be the best way there but here in western mass you can tell just by the poles.
streetlight98   [Oct 06, 2011 at 03:03 AM]
I meant the Reoboth area and Attleboro area and places around there.
