Which design do any of you prefer? The new hinge-design OVX or the older one? There are some differences.

I see some kind of tag on the side.

It's a tag that identifies the light.

HERE IS ONE Close up that he took a picture of when the light was on the ground. A bit ripped... But you can see what is on one of those tags.

Mainly that identifies the "CITY OF BOSTON" and installation date, etc.

Is it just me or does the newer OVX look a bit more boxy than the older version? (Like mine)

The edges are slightly sharper on the newer OVX.

The OVZ got a face lift too when they switched to the new hinge design. The current OVZ top housing isn't the same as the OVH from what i see. (unless the OVH/G got the newer sharp profile as well).

In early 2006 Cooper Lighting elongated the latch on the OVZ and in mid 2006 the housing was redesigned with sharper edges.

Actually the OVH and OVG have the same housing as the OVZ. I look at both my OVZ and OVH, they have a nearly identical design except the hinges are different. Other than the hinges the housings are exactly the same.
