Lots of lights, and a traffic setup.
The easiest to notice is the Traffic signal, typical for Littleton, with a double davit arm for the light, GELcores for the signals, and... Black everywhere. Wouldn't it look nice with a black cobrahead? xD

Lots of lights too, the easiest to see is the AE model 25.
GE M-400 A1 FCO's in the background, and you see those OVX's far in the distance.

Well a yellow signal is considerably more visible in the dark/bad weather.
Form109   [Apr 24, 2011 at 08:53 PM]
that's true actually...that's probably why yellow is the predominant color.
gailgrove   [Apr 24, 2011 at 08:56 PM]
Even here if we have decorative poles and street lights the signals will always be yellow.
Form109   [Apr 24, 2011 at 09:22 PM]
in stark contrast most of our signals are dark brown to black....though on the older signals the mounting hardware is faded yellow clearly showing that in the past they had yellow signals.

Black signals are popular in denver. They are everywhere. Hardly any yellow.

The signal that you see very far on Broadway and Mineral USED to have yellow signals but black poles, they replaced the signals with black ones.

My area it seems to depend....most of the state traffic lights has black front and yellow backing since 1997 or so (the same day I first saw those in use was the same day I first saw some truss arms with GE M-400A3 sag lens!)

But there are some replacement installations I have found and some county traffic lights installed that are FULLY yellow!

In aurora they have lots with Black fronts and Yellow backs, That busted up traffic light I have was from Aurora so it has a black front and a yellow back, as you probably see in my pics, and that is the most popular there.

Is that a Davit pole holding up the overhead lamp?
streetlight98   [May 05, 2011 at 09:46 PM]
Southpark..... heh heh. Laughing

Here we have yellow signals with those fancy black borders around them. In the metropolitian areas of Cranston and Providence, we have black signals and MH post tops. And yep, one of the more unusual styles of davits is holding up the ITT 25 mounted above the signals if that's what you are refering to......
Form109   [Jul 27, 2011 at 04:02 AM]
@dbz77 Yeah that's a Davit.

I've seen black signals in Ontario before but they're very rare here most decorative installs still use yellow signals.
streetlight98   [Jul 27, 2011 at 02:22 PM]
We use lots of black signals, but most are yellow with the black back boards. Also, that's an odd doghouse. Looks like a chair. Laughing

That's some thing you don't see to much of your time
Surprised
LilCinnamon   [Jul 28, 2011 at 06:49 PM]
Odd doghouse? How? xD
Form109   [Jul 28, 2011 at 07:04 PM]

this is a "Lazyboy Recliner" Signal. Laughing

It's funny to think that most of these cobraheads have been converted to LED at this point, Highlands Ranch has LED'd EVERYTHING, so has CDOT, and the roads are slowly getting dominated with LEDS all over this area after returning after two years. Still the occasional HPS light in some areas, and then the occasional areas where they didn't change out anything, so there are still areas where HPS is dominant, but for how much longer...

I went past this intersection just last weekend Laughing

Southpark - the street.
To visit the town you need to go to the mountains. (one of these days when I'm up that way I need to check it out)

The entire business complex in this area is called Southpark, has nothing to do with the southpark everyone knows about, where I got the insulators in my collection from, regardless of that comment being like... 6 years old, this image is pretty old, I just stumbled upon it looking in my gallery and thought I'd comment about how everything here is going LED, even up here where I live now, in Longmont, the lights are slowly getting LEDed.
