Restore find! GE M-250 R2 Found this at the restore, 20 dollars. It was a good price! Never before been used, and clean clean, and very clean. How this ended up here, I am honestly not sure, but the other restore has a 100w HPS OVH with an ELECTRONIC BALLAST for sale for 45, but that price is a bit more and I couldn't afford that one much.. Next week I may end up going in there on my next days off to see if it is still there and if the price is marked down. But yeah, this was at the Wheat Ridge restore, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. First time finding a cobrahead here. And of course when I was buying it the people checking me out asked if it was a grow light.. Bleh, I guess collecting streetlights makes people think you grow weed or something, but I guess every hobby comes with a trade off.. Oh well. But nice light! Lightweight, 120 volts, and clean. Here is a bottom view. I wish they didn't end up writing the price on the light itself.. but oh well. 20 dollars for a brand new light though... That's a steal. Keywords: American_Streetlights

How nice of the morons to write the price right on it in sharpie. Mad Rolling Eyes What year is this? Certainly a nice find for the price!

2010, so it isn't all that new but it is new, do the light is 7 years old, over 7 years old as it was made in march of that year. Would that count as New Old Stock even though it is a current model that is still in production? I would say so cause 7 years is kinda old

Nice find! Fortunately some rubbing alcohol or acetone will make quick work of the sharpied on price tag. Cobraheads occasionally show up at the Restore around here too.

From what I have noticed the Restores here in Colorado happen to be the ones that have the good stuff, I have got multiple good things from the restores here, from HID lighting, Toilet stuff, or whatever, I can seem to find the better stuff around here for some reason, and I have been to restores all over the country, from Dallas, to Indianapolis, to Springfield, to St. Louis, Little Rock, and so forth, and some of those other ones I have been to multiple times, and I don't seem to find as much. Okay granted I found something good at the Ft. Smith AR restore that was not lighting related but I think that was restore that has the better stuff anyway, though lighting wise I would say nah.

But yeah, this is a nice light, with a tiny reactor ballast too though which makes it very lightweight. I still hope to snag that OVH that I found at the other store with the electronic ballast but since I am no longer living with my parents I am not able to just throw away money on things like I used to be able to.

Yeah I'd consider it NOS since it's more than a few years old. It's old enough to have the nice NEMA tag. The newer ones have really chintzy NEMA tags with small print (like the LED wattage tags, but with just the NEMA number and nothing else) and they scratch really easy too. The NEMA tag on yours is printed in Helvetica instead of Ariel and is glossy/more durable and the font is properly sized on the label.

Those low-watt HPS ballasts are tiny! I have a couple 70W HPS M-250R2s and they're very light. My two 150W ones have a little more weight to them though (to be expected...) but even they're not bad. My 50W HPS Cooper OVC is SUPER lightweight. My 50W and 70W HPS AE 113s are pretty light too. My 1960s M-250Rs and 1967 M-250A though... those old dogs are beasts! They weight as much as one of my 250W HPS M-250R2s or OVZ!
