Restore find! Thomas & Betts (American Electric) 70w HPS wallpack!
Went to Springfield with a coworker today, and found this for 5 dollars! New Old Stock 1997 Thomas & Betts 70 watt High Pressure Sodium wallpack. Never before been used, and works great! Must have been something no one needed, but 5 dollars was a bargain for this thing, I am sure back in the day this costed like... 30 dollars? Maybe, and including inflation that would be like 70 to 100 dollars of today's money. But then again my inflation counter is probably way off so I would just say about 70 to 100 dollars this would have been brand new back in the day (if money was worth how much it is now)

Works great! I taped the internal PC so it would work, it came with a coated HPS lamp, and it works like a charm! Enjoy!

Lamp off view, stickers and stuff shown here.

Sticker under the factory box sticker was the supplier that originally got it or something. I got this in Springfrield ReStore so it didn't travel far since the late 90's so.

Nice. are HID Wallpacks even a thing anymore? im seeing more and more LED ones.

Yeah the LED ones are really common. Almost all new commercial exterior lighting is LED around here. Plenty of existing HID left but I rarely see brand new buildings get HIDs.

I have NEVER seen a new HID installation within the past 3 years except for a car dealer that installed new 250w PSMH shoeboxes to replace some VHO fixtures. It's quite sad really.

I still see a small amount of HID installs around here, not as many as 3 years ago but HID is still somewhat used here. I've seen some MVs get replaced with PSMH around a few months ago.
