Yeah, the 50s etch is a lot more cleaner than a modern etch with those (E) and (Hg) symbols on them . This one is inside etched too and is probably my first inside etched lamps (seems the Canadian fluorescents were never inside etched) too. I didn't have to worry about cleaning the etch off this one.
Yeah, I'd imagine it cost a lot more compared to outside etch. Too bad they got rid of it though, at least GE was the last one to make inside etched lamps.
It looks painfully bright even on my computer screen lol. I've never seen colored fluorescents lit in person except BLB and grow lamps if you count those since they're colors other than the standard white-range lamps.
