Here's a comparison of the 200w clear incandescent my gumball was designed to run and the 35w CMH I converted my gumball to run. I used a E26 to G12 adapter and remote ballasted my gumball.
Lumens wise it works out pretty well, but the long distance between the ballast and lamp seems to have a effect on the restrike time. I suppose a proper refit with a integral ballast would be better.
