The amber section's glass reflector. At the time this traffic signal was manufactured for the city of New York in the early 2000s, new vehicular heads were still required to have glass lenses and reflectors for the amber sections. The red and green sections used L.E.D. inserts.

I always found it neat that NYC regs specified glass lenses and reflectors all the way until the LED era.
