Here's a view of the reflector and the lamp. It has a rubber gasket instead of the usual felt gasket. Which probably works a lot better at keeping bugs and water out of the refractor.

yeah i prefer rubber gaskets BIG time over felt. After more than 10 years the felt starts to stiffen and it's really nasty.

Yeah, I think rubber is also easier to clean up too, some of the rubber gaskets in my traffic lights have been in use for decades and are still in good condition.

most rubber street light gaskets can be taken off and put back on too since the simply stretch around the rim of the reflector without adheisive.

I actually like the concept of the two-door cobrahead! It's more efficient, as opposed to having to open up the entire fixture... Cool
