1984 Fisher Pierce PC
I really like this style with the window glued on the outside. In general, unfortunatly the glue wore off overtime with these PCs and the window fell out and the PCs would start dayburning the next time it rained. i don't know why the left pic showed it as blue lol. i couldn't open this so that's why there's no pic. it's a relay type PC like most of my non-electronic PCs are.

Hmm, after it shorts out does the PC go open or dayburn.

They dayburn. Joe M has one like this that lost its window and dayburned. It was on that M-250A2FCO that David F. took a pic of dayburning. he showed me the exact fixture and PC. this has the hard plastic though these didn't discolor like the ripelys. only a slight yellow tinge.

I just noticed that Toronto Canada is stamped on the case. I wonder where is FPs office here.

The relay may still be ok on this one, just the exposed style square eye would have lost sensitivity from weather exposure.

i'm not sure if FP still has an ontario facility. they were bought out a few times since the 80s.
Oh this one is fine. I meant in general these tended to loose their window. I should have worded it differently lol. I could talk to joe about his dayburning PC but he'd probably want to leave it as-is since he likes to keep things original. plus i window is long gone. but yeah this one still has its window and works. pretty sensitive too. Cool

Ah it's worded fine,but I see I shouldn't comment when I'm tired lol. Laughing

Some of my comments I make right before bed (like 2 am) are pretty odd too. Laughing

i'm typically offline by 1:30, 11:30 definetly the limit lol.

BTW, i might be goign to the restore next friday. I'm going to see if i can get my mom to take me to different restore. the nearest one besides the one i normally go to is in Putnam, Connecticut, about a 45 minute drive. It's actually a little closer than the one i go too and the only other one anywhere near me. All the ones in Massachusetts are at least and hour's drive and the other ones in connecticut are closer to NY. The only one in RI is the one I've always gone too. The RI Restore is a goldmine for fluorescents. They always have something- and cheap too! I'm curious what the Putnam Restore may have. If it has some good stuff, i'll start going to both restores, switching which one i go to each time.

Here's the info for interest's sake...

Putnam Address: 171 Providence Street Putnam CT 06260
Putnam Phone: 860-928-2200
Putnam Email: restorene@habitatect.org
Putnam Store Hours: Fri. - Sat. 9 am to 4 pm

I've never been in that area before so I hope i don't get lost lol. seems pretty straight forward though. Just follow US44 west from my house until you pass I-395... Anyways, if i can go to the restore and can go to that restore, i'll fill you guys in on what i see! perhaps a cobrhead or some HID stuff? Or Perhaps some fluorescent-related stuff? Or maybe absolutly nothing of interest? Laughing We'll see...

Cool! I guess I'm fortunate to be in a big city where there's probably 10 Restores within a hour's drive from my house. Laughing Razz

Hope you find some good stuff next Friday too, imagine if you walk in and see this there, or some of the other good stuff I scored over the years. I guess you'll fill us in on any interesting streetlights you find along the way too. Cool
streetlight98   [Sep 02, 2013 at 12:19 AM]
yeah there are two restores within an hour's drive from me. Razz my parents won't drive more than an hour to go "light shopping" lol.

i don't know about finding a UCD (though it'd be cool lol). If i find an HID fixture, unless it's a streetlight or a utility flood light like a GE powerflood or whatever cooper calls their floodlight. I'd love to find an NOS streetlight! Wow that'd be awesome! I know some members have gotten T17 lamps from Restores before. That's really the only T17 stuff i need is a good case of lamps! Between the two fixtures, one has one lamp installed and one has a working lamp and my grandpa has two spares that i guess i'll be "inherriting" so that's enough lamps to get the fixtures working but no spares. I'd love to find a case of T17s or even just a couple loose lamps. Plus they'd sell dirt cheap at the restore.

I can't get my hopes up though... there's probably nothing more than a few striplights though. Laughing

I see. Razz I believe someone found a case of F40T17s (IS only) at Restore once. Don't mind getting my hands on a pair though as I can make a fixture for them if I find a 4' slimline ballast.

Oh, and sometimes all I got at Restore was a bunch of incandescent fixtures. Laughing
streetlight98   [Sep 02, 2013 at 02:00 AM]
ooo nice! And the good thing about being the only known collector in the area is that i get to stockpile anything rare that i find lol.

there are always a lot of incandescent fixtures at my restore but the only thing i'd have an interest in would be the stained glass fixtures and those are always like 175 bucks. Shocked
