What Excactly Rusts on the Fixture?...its not Made of Steel is it?
mdschmier   [Apr 01, 2010 at 06:55 AM]
It looks like it has an OV-25 refracter

I was more referring to the poles rusting out, It also does look to have a OV-25 refractor.
EDIT: I belive these are actually Powerlite B2255 refractors.

They all had different refractors for some reason. The North Park ones near Professors lake looked like the had R37 refractors. These 2 I think had B2255 refractors before they were taken down considering there is also a B2255 nearby http://goo.gl/maps/9qLZN

I remember seeing those ones replaced, I was rather annoyed, granted they were rusting out, but still... This one was up on Sandalwood, right where this OVX now is if I recall correctly.

did they leave any missouts behind when they redid the lighting? [url=http://goo.gl/maps/SGxEY] Here's a miss out on I-95 near me. they left behind one M-250R2 when they redid the lighting at Exit 10 back in the early-to-mid 2000s. Then when they redid the lighting at Exit 11 a couple years ago, they still left this light behind. This light is unfortunatly cycling and the PC is a dayburner but this light somehow ended up being connected to Exit 10's realay (so it's wired with the OVFs) so it only dayburns after the relay comes on (which comes on a little before dusk. the relay has dayburned before so that's how i know the PC is bad). Eventually the light will burn out though. I wonder if they'll service it or ignore it when they do a relamp... there's a chance they might stick an FCO M-400 on that pole. they've done it before with miss outs instead of replacing the pole they just replace the fixture so it's FCO like the others.

There's still a few of these lights around, but not many of them. I somehow don't think they have been missed but rather they are awaiting replacement. To be honest I won't really miss them, they are UGLY.

Yeah these are sorta funky looking lol. Interesting to see shoebox/cobrahead hybrids though. I've never seen them here.

They're pretty unique imo Razz but I think they look better lighting a parking lot than a street.
gailgrove   [Aug 23, 2013 at 11:34 PM]
I'd agree they are unique, but I'm still not a big fan of them. I do like the smaller ones, but not these big ones so much.

They probably look better if they didn't paint them shoebox brown Razz

I am a big fan of them and there only about 11 tall ones left now. The ones near me were taken out about a year ago Rolling Eyes
