In Mississauga? Will be your street soon. (crappy phonecam edition)
LED retrofitting of this whole city is going forward (with what I'll call the DURASTAR of LED fisxtures :/). Odd progress, I've only noticed low wattage HPS fixtures replaced thus far, and I've never seen any 400W HPS cobraheads replaced with LEDs ever by Ontario municipalities. If the whole city's HPS is going down, I'm wondering what the heck will be mounted on the 400W ones on the other side of the road! Also, instead of a photocell cap, these each have an antenna. Apparently every light is to be remotely monitored and controlled.

Yeah, I've seen them pop up in Mississauga the past year and replace 250w arterial road lights and 70/100w residential lights. I also know that on Burnhamthorpe they've been replacing the old 400w 40' poles with closer spaced 30' poles and installing LED fixtures.

MTO also replaced some highmasts in the Brantford area with LED too.

I have also seen the burnhampthorpe pole reductions. I recall new poles and arms without luminaires for a few months, and I was figuring this had to all be for LED... For some reason I'm imagining this city sawing tons of 40' poles down to mount LED's at a lower level... I at least have a hunch there will be some pole sawing happening somewhere in this city.

Can anyone find a link to the manufacturer's site to link here?

The posttops on hazelwood are getting replaced by what looks similar to these but on Black poles and a small black underbraced arm IIRC

Wait, you posted pictures with some crappy coachtops being replaced with standard colour LEDs. That must be another neighbourhood. Interesting, that would be the first residential replacement program using decorative hardware. And why do these folks get this!

It would be cool if it were these with LED's though.

Those might be the actual arms! Surprised Shocked

Yeah the only subdivisions I know with postops have no gone LED. The postops havent been removed yet but they will in the spring.

I remember when Nial (gailgrove) was fighting for his neighbourhood's twistpacks to be replaced with something not run-of-the-mill, I thought the above mentioned decoratively braced aluminum arms would look cool and be cost efficient if in bare metal on standard concrete poles, wouldnt that be coooooooooooooooooool.

It would be different for a change. All these subdivision's that are being upgraded are really boring because they use the same thing over and over again except that sometimes they change up the cobraheads

I had to go down hazelwood to check the new set up! So here is what they put up:
*These arms*
*Looks like these Cooper XNV2 LEDs in black*

This is interesting because the King teardrops have been the only fixture on these arms since appearing in 2010. The LED is pretty bulky looking, so I think it's a crafty attempt to get in LED's into what usually asks for a teardrop shape. The risk is using an LED on these arms opens up the chance of visually incompatible models appearing on these arms. I think the city has now figured out how to implement LED's in all situations now, except where 400W HPS is, awaiting that next!

Yeah in the spring a large amount of LED's will be in full operation once the snow melts. They'll remove the old fixtures and then the LED's will be in full swing. I haven't seen anything here LED over 150w

UPDATE: two of these LED fixtures in Mississauga randomly on Mavis road that is otherwise still HPS have been replaced with AEL 115s Rolling Eyes . I guess they were up there for testing purposes? Meanwhile, there is another fixture killing HPS on low lumen 2 lane roads, made by the same company, but even though it's sleeker, it looks cheesier to me: LINK
