Sylvania Dura-One Induction CFL
Found three of these rare Sylvania Dura-One induction lamps at the dollar store of all places. I was a bit surprised to see these among the no name dollar store CFLs and incandescents though xP

They're made in Canada too and give off quite nice light, better than regular 2700K CFLs imo.

How many are there? I wouldn't expect to find something that pricey at a dollar store, unless they're cheaply made and were discontinued by a bigger chain... Looks like 100W equivalent? How big is it in comparison to a typical A19 lamp?

There were three of them there. I'm guessing these were closeout stock they got as they normally sell the junky no name CFLs.

The box says it's a 75w equivalent but it's pretty close in lumens to my 100w Reveals. Oh and it's around an inch taller than regular A19 bulbs.

At first i thought it was a spiral CFL with a plug-in A19 shaped replaceable lamp. Laughing Shocked Since these are induction, wouldn't these generally be very expenisive?

Yeah they are, according to LG they used to sell for $18 a lamp. Shocked I don't think they're made anymore though as LED seems to have taken over the market for these.

Dollar store find! I bought two of the R-30's for over $30 each some years ago! They both failed within a day IIRC...Sylvania sent me replacements and I gave them away. Hope you have better luck with yours...they are cool lamps if nothing else, because of the technology used.

Thanks! Hmm, the ones I got seem to have fared fine the first day. I usually score good stuff at Restore but I guess the dollar store can have some good lights too. Razz

Cool find, Joe Very Happy

Update: I found ten more of them so I have 13 bulbs now. I don't need that many so once I figure out a way to accept payments, I'll probably be selling around 6-7 of them for around $4-5 each + shipping. I'm also open to trades if you have something interesting.

I'll post a new topic in the forum in a few weeks with more details.
