Looks pretty used. I guess it still works though. BT-28 GEs seem to be pretty rare.

Yes it still works fine. Casts a greenish blue glow.

That's cool! Same age as the one in my '63 Power/Bracket.

wonder what the Lumen Output is with the Arc tube Blackening....490 Lumens Prehaps?....Cool Lamp Tho!
Silverliner14B   [Mar 26, 2010 at 04:29 AM]
It's a little dimmer than a brand new mercury lamp but still plenty of usable light.

Is the arctube had a white color before its started to blacken? I know that the eletrodes emitter deposits on the arctube in this lamp have a white color like the Osram and Philips european mercury lamps that produced after this lamp was invented.

Yes it did have whitening, this lamp has high hours on it.

I'm still surprised today how long these old mercury lamps can last! They just DON'T want to give up!

Cool, It's simply amazing to me how long these old mercury lamps can last for. I bet some fixtures never had their lamps changed from when they were originally installed to when they were removed for HPS lights.

Yep many 60s mercury fixtures still had their original lamps when they were changed out to HPS in the 80s and 90s.
