Cannon Beach, Oregon: Holophane LEDS
|
Saw these interesting Holophane "LEDgend" fixtures with emitters arranged in a triple chevron design on the main through street (South Hemlock). It appears to be a return to "whiteway" lighting with the side streets remaining HPS - this is opposed to Seattle which decided to use LEDs on residential streets and keep high wattage arterial lighting HPS (at least initially). I did not see these at night, so I don't know their colour temperature. I actually like these - they look like big, modern desk lamps.

Over here the side streets have been changed out to LED but almost all the arterials are still HPS.
Yep I know Avenue of the Arts, right along I-95 near the mall. I was told those post tops originally had 175 and 250W MV. Then some got 150W PSMH and now they're all induction. I like induction lighting but the ones they picked for the post tops in Providence are too dim.
