This has a mogul socket? I never thought there was a such thing as a 100 watt PSMH lamp in a mogul base. I still need a lamp, I got the 100 watt BALLAST but I just need the lamp.

Yep, it came with a mogul socket. I have to get a lamp for this fixture.

I believe the reason why no half white and half red is because 100 watt probe start does not exist, only 150 and up have pulse and probe available.....

Ian, 100 watt pulse start MH lamps in mogul exists.....
I think it's time for you to start learning more about lamps than streetlight designs Wink

Nice find. Yep they do make mogul base 100w MH lamps. Venture makes them. Sylvania and Philips also makes some but they are CMH and kinda expensive at least $50 or more.

Ah just bypass the ignitor and run a 100W merc. Razz Yeah it overdrives the lamp an unconcernable amount, but Don has done it with his lights with no long term issues.

Nice light!

If you can get your hands on it, I believe a 125w merc would be the best match for a 100w MH ballast.

At a previous job my co worker installed a couple 100w mercs in 100w MH floodlights and they went dim within a couple years. Supposedly good quality GE Hungary ones. Confused

At this point I'm going to leave it as-is an use a 100w MH lamp. The mounting bracket I ordered along with this fixture should be here this week as well.

You can find a mogul base lamp at a good deal here, but don't count on the quality (Plusrite lamps simply suck). It's the only reasonably priced brad I know of for mogul base MH lamps.

I think the best lamp you can get with your money for this light can be found here. It's a good name, good price, plus it's ceramic metal halide, meaning longer life, more lumens, less chance of explosion, and better color quality. Smile You'll need a mogul to medium adapter though but the lamp will be 100 times better than Plusrite junk.

That one from 1000bulbs.com is the one I ordered. There seem to be very few mogul-base low wattage MH lamps out there.

They also make mogul base 100w ceramic metal halide lamps like one with this ordering code: CDM150/U/PS/4K but the cheapest I can find is $42 apiece.

Did you order the mogul to medium adapter too? I figured the fixture would come with one since mogul base MH lamps under 175W are hard to come by...

Mike there might be issues with the ignitor and the mogul to medium adapter, such adapters are not rated for 4kv pulses.

Yeah, I didn't order an adapter for that reason. Couldn't find one that was pulse rated.

Hmm it looks like Grainger sells them. Anyways, it's not recommended but I've just used the regular ceramic reducers in a pinch before and it worked fine/
