Brampton Construction 2012 #2 - Road Widening
A road reconstruction project utilizing the luminaire models indicated. All poles at intersections/future intersections for mounting signal arms specifically use FCO lights. Doesn't it make sense to use drop lenses at intersections to act as beacon lights? Can someone tell me why someone decided to use FCO lights only at the intersections for this road widening project?

Oh because I usually get asked, this is Wanless Dr.

Hmm, I've noticed that signal poles in my area used to use GE M-400A3s while the mid block lights are Cooper OVFs but they seemed to have switched from GE to OVFs in the newer installs. My guess is that a separate signal contractor handles the signal poles while a lighting contractor does the other poles so the lumes are different.

That is an excellent guess Joe. Potentially possible. Usually when a whole stretch of road is reconstructed, one contractor wins the bid for the whole project. Makes sense as I also notice some other clues here: the lumes on signal poles aren't spaced equally with the road light series, and the lume arm brackets on the signal poles curve ever-slightly differently. I wonder if contractors hire subcontractors for some work lol.
