Ever heard of Sylvania bulbs made overseas?
streetlight98   [Jun 01, 2012 at 01:40 AM]
Hmm. All the boxes i get show a state on the bottom and say made in USA. Confused
Silverliner14B   [Jun 01, 2012 at 01:51 AM]
Well these are made in France! Made by Osram the parent company. Quite unusual, all the ones I see here are USA too.

Do you know when these were made?

Shocked I've haven't seen a foreign made Sylvania here yet, and the date code seems a bit odd from the domestic Sylvanias.

The Sylvanias here are dated 10/11. The date code here is a standard Osram system, which is not used by the USA Sylvania plant. I was surprised to see this, these are the first Sylvania GLS bulbs made overseas ever since 1901 when Sylvania's earliest root began. I looked in Family Dollar, they have some full wattage Sylvanias, but are all USA made. The French bulbs were sent to me by a friend in MA. Ok I will shut up now lol.
