Interesting how some FCO AEL 115 still have the house side socket while others have street side sockets. Also that "03", "05" "07" thing AEL does with the NEMA tags instead of the standard "3", "5", "7" irritates me. Oh BTW, nice light. Can yuo show it lit up and a side profile too please?

I was gonna post a picture of it lit up after i install it. But it doesnt look like thats gonna be happening any time soon. I still have to find a way to get the pole in the ground. I think it's too heavy to just walk it up and let it fall in the hole. Thats how I wanted to do it but I can already see the pole missing the hole and falling on the neighbor's house. So right now Im out of ideas.

Hmm. Maybe a pal of yours would help you? If one person guides the pole into the hole and the other lifts the pole, it could work. To be safe, I'd dig the hole a good five feet deep or so.

Well when I got the pole, they cut off a few feet so it wouldn't stick out too far on the flatbed truck I used to transport it to my house. So I was gonna go about 3 feet deep. Cause I really wanted the pole to be tall. And if I bury it deeper, then it will be shorter.

Nice light! As for the pole, I'd suggest going with the rule of thumb "10% of the pole plus 2 feet" in terms of burying it. Ex. If the pole is 20 feet 10% would be 2 feet plus another 2 which is obviously four.

How much did this cost ?

I think this 115 was a little over $100. Maybe $110 or $115. It came with a 35 watt HPS lamp, a blue DTL photocontrol, and a mogul-medium adapter that was already installed in the lamp socket when I got it.

Nice I'd like to see this lit at night. Deos it give off a fair amount of light?

It actually does give off way more light than I expected. I never got it installed on the wood utility pole like I wanted to. But I did install it on the same 4x4 post that the mercury bucket light was installed on in my parents back yard. The post is starting to lean so I will eventually be taking down the 115 and probably bring it to my apartment to put with all my other cobraheads. Those 4x4 posts arent meant to hold up a streetlight.

I saw some 35w hps lights in Weston, mass. Same fixtures as yours.

I can't see the distribution being that great since the lamp is so far back. If you extend the socket all the way forward it still wouldn't be centered. You can tape another 35W lamp to the front of the installed lamp and maybe the taped lamp would be centered.

I suppose if you got the high performance FCO optics with the streetside socket, the lamp would be a little more centered and give better light distribution. This needs a drop lens.

Can you take a pic of this lit while it's mounted? I'm curious as to how much light it puts out and how well it covers the ground. thanks.

I find small cobraheads usually work well with ED-17 sized lamps if you use a ceramic socket extender with them.

All you have to do with my M-250A is extend the socket track all the way out and an ED17 lamp is perfectly centered lol.

Ahh on my R47 extending the socket still dosen't centre a ED17 lamp so I use the socket extender.

my electric company and the neigboring electric companies...BGE, PEPCO and Delmarva all 3 uses AE 115s for low wattages fixtures, but BGE and Delmarva both uses street side sockets with sag lens (at first BGE used house side sockets but changed to street side sockets), and PEPCO currently uses house side sockets and in FCO

Did you have to call them before and place a custom order or did you just put "3S" on the catalog number? I want to order one of these but 35w would be perfect for using indoors. I would also probably order it with a glass drop refractor.
