250 watt HPS Ballast in OVS
I put the 250 watt HPS ballast in there just until I get a new multi-tap ballast for this that is 100 watts High Pressure Sodium.

The ballast was from my first OVX, I took that out to put in here and to put the 400 watt MH/MV ballast in there to make it like.. that cause it would be cool to have a 400 watt MV OVX.

The ballast in here is just temporary, I am going to buy that ballast on ebay to put in here.

Looks better with a bigger ballast IMO. Smile

That's why I got the bigger ballast. For now it will be 250 watts until I get a new ballast.

I DID score a new 100 watt Pulse Start MH ballast today for 10 bucks at the ReStore, but I am not putting it in this in the first place.

I need a lamp for the ballast I got..

Hmm what brand is the new ballast you're getting?
LilCinnamon   [Jul 06, 2012 at 02:02 PM]
Why does the cube ignitor have trouble fitting in the OVS? Aren't the cube ignitors MADE for cooper? I dunno why it didn't fit well. At least it holds in there though.
I like this ballast in here, it's nice and big. If only the NEMA tag matched. xD I am gonna get a 100 watt HPS ballast for this soon...

I know of lots of 250 watt HPS OVH's here, well only a few.. That are in service. I really like having a new old stock fixture.

My cube ignitor fit fine in the OVS, I just check spot that worked well.
LilCinnamon   [Jul 07, 2012 at 11:52 AM]
Well you put your ignitor where the capacitor should of gone, this ballast has a capacitor so I had to put the ignitor on the normal screw, and it was a very tight fit.

Hey Ian, if you still need a PC receptacle, this will work better than any other receptacle you'll find online, as it's made to be rotatable. Not a bad price either. Smile

Interesting, it's how the original PC sockets in my Powerlites were mounted.

Tony sent me a Photocell Socket, so I don't need one anymore.

But what I DO Need is a GE Photocell socket. The old one with the screws. I need one for my M-250 R1 FCO. Right now it still has the newer GE design which doesn't fit all the way right...
Antstar85   [Aug 19, 2012 at 01:16 PM]
Have you gotten a chance to install the receptacle yet?
streetlight98   [Aug 19, 2012 at 02:12 PM]
The one i linked looked like it would fit your M-250R FCO fine since my M-400 takes the same style photocell receptacle as your M-250R and the mounts on the Ripley that i linked look nearly identical. Why didn't you save the PC receptacle on the M-400A FCO that your mom ran over?
LilCinnamon   [Aug 19, 2012 at 08:16 PM]
I had two M-400 A1 FCO's. One HAD a photocell socket, the other had NO Photocell socket, so I didn't end up with an extra one.

Now I have two M-400 A1 FCO's again and both of them have PC sockets. But I want to keep both of them with PC sockets.

I'm getting a new ballast for this. Just ordered a new 100 watt HPS ballast for it, I think I will add the PC socket as well when I get it. Finally will match!

Ah nice! A 100W HPS ballast at last. Smile
