GE F8T4? cool white
Unusual lamp I found that appears to be the same length as an F8T5 only the tube diameter is just a bit smaller, and the end caps are different.

I bet that's a regular T5. There are F8T4 lamps, but they're not 12". The diameter can vary slightly by manufacturer. For instance, I have a Sylvania UK that is too thick for the cover of my battery operated lantern, while a Sylvania US fits just fine. Your GE was probably made in the 1970s.

I've noticed that the vintage T5s seem to have a thinner tube than the current ones, I have a GE 6w that's like that too,

It's the GE ones that are a little bit thinner, it is T5, because I do have them myself and they work for T5 perfectly, and yes it's a 70s lamp

And I thought I had something really unusual here. I thought the etch looked like it originally said F8T5 but it was thinner than any of the other T5s I have. Anyway, thanks for letting me know!
