Here's a GE 275W SBMV sunlamp, both the GE and Sylvania appear to be hardly used.
Voltage: 110-125V
Current: 2.40A
Date: Code 15
Lamp shape: R40
Base: Medium E26 brass
Interesting finds! That GE lamp is definitely Canadian. I can't tell exactly which decade, but it is certainly from the 2nd year, so it's either March '62 or '72. Maybe '82 but it would surprise me as the lamp looks like a pre-CGE.
I have one of those myself.......but the "Sun Lamp" is in bold solid color instead of lined letters and it doesn't have "A.C." on it and instead of 60 cycles, it says "50-60 Cycles"
Also mine just says
"Warning
Read Caution Notice"
Your's may actually be older than mine, because of your GE logo......mine has a more familiar pre 1989 logo......I think mine was from the 70s.....not sure....the date code on the etch is 68
I would love to put that on a dimmmer! you could make the lamp last longer that way, because in aSBMV once the filament breaks, the ehole lamp is dead. So, you could start it at full voltage to strike the arc, then back it off a little.
