Wheeler Boston "nema head"
This is a NOS Wheeler Boston nema head style with a PERFECT Holophane lens. This fixture came with a series lamp socket but had the insulator installed to make it a "multiple" unit and it had the original Wheeler PE socket AND Wheeler PE control! This is one of my FAVORITES!

the PE control on top was manufactured by Micro Balance which later became Precision Multiple Controls. It is a vacuum tube powered unit, pretty cool from the 50's It didn't come with htis fixture but I figured it was period and cool looking so I added it. The control was used and didn't work but all it needed was a new tube and BINGO! works like a champ! The guy I got the control from was a NYC street light tech and these controls were removed from service in the 1970's.

Do these vacuum tube photocells take awhile to react to light or lack of thereof like most thermal relay photocells you see nowadays do?
