These are the GE Evolve Scalable LED streetlights. We started installing these at work as well for testing by the request of towns/cities.

Didn't know Brampton was in on the LED bandwagon too. Some test lights (OVH LED, Lumec LED and the square one that Mississauga uses) have appeared in Markham and on highway 7 but I've yet to hear of any retrofit plans.

Thanks Antstar85! @Joe: Oh there are no LED retrofits happening in Brampton yet. Newer trends like FCO and now these LED's only seem to pop up in construction contract projects. I sure wish to see an OVH LED in person, I've never seen one ever. Not sure what a square one is, sounds uncommon.

Next question, what is the circle next to the Tag? My guess is a level of some sort applied optionally.

yep, it's a level. doesn't look liked they used them considering the lights are aimed upwards... Rolling Eyes Laughing With workers time is money so i don't think most linemen would spend the time referring the level when they can just eyeball it. Most fixtures i see around here are tilted up slightly and tilted to one side a little. The reason for the sideways tilt is probably because the higher side was the side the lineman was bolting on the light.

Hey Matt, if you take a drive along Green Lane up here in Markham, you'll see all three types of LED fixtures I mentioned.

LED fixtures and streetlights are becoming a thing of the future. And starting now LED's are getting common, soon all streetlights will be LED's I like the LED lights and they are very efficient.
streetlight98   [May 09, 2013 at 02:03 AM]
Eh. LEDs aren't significantly more efficient than HPS, it's just the color is better. But why spend so much on an LED light when you can get good performance out of a ceramic PSMH lamp and fixture? at least those are still HID and use "real" light fixtures.

They continued adding more of these black GE's in that area again. Except they are now using the new evolve second generations!

Wow check out above comments, six years ago already. I figured These were discontinued. New version black evolves sound alright. Slowly developing this business park.
Model25FanForever   [Dec 18, 2019 at 01:14 PM]
Yeah its amazing looking back now that we first were spotting them 6 years ago. Now its basically everywhere.
joe_347V   [Dec 25, 2019 at 10:59 PM]
Yeah, now seeing a HID streetlight is more a rare find. Espeically if you don't live in Toronto or York Region. York Region still has some HID left, Toronto is still msotly HID.

Yeah even MTO looks like its beginning its use of LED
