Sylvania GTE F20T12/D35 lamp (please date)
this one has the familiar endcaps and date code system as the newer slyvania lamps, yet the dots are still present too. The numerical code reads A428 with the A underlined if you can't read it. this one seems like a late 80s-early 90s version?

Interesting, transitional etch. Can't date the dotted code but the other one looks like it's February 1994, made a few months after the Osram buyout in summer 1993.

Cool thanks! I was thinking more towards the early 90s. Looks to eb from the same era as the F40CW Sylvania GTE workshop lamps that i've seen before.

Yeah you can tell they didn't change the etch that much after the Osram buyout. You can see it still has the old school YR: MO: boxes on the bottom. I'm guessing they took em off since people rarely used them.

@joe_347V: You are correct. The dotted code also decodes to Feb. 1994.
