Is this this in Canada? These crosswalk signs are Canadian and those poles look very Ontario-like. Do those beacons only flash when the pedstrian button is pushed?
I suppose with all the LED-craze goin on, they could develope a crosswalk like this that utilizes amber LEDs. Once a white light source takes over these will do their intended job once again. With all HPS these don't do that great of a job standing out. Back in the MV days these probably worked great since the golden light really stood out from the blueish-white light.
I belive these are 135W SOX going from the pic Joe posted. good way to tell if its a 180W SOX lamp they have a rounded end the rest have a bell shaped one

@Model25FanForever, yeah I rarely see them in the suburbs but there's a ton of them downtown.
Something I found interesting about this pic is that it still uses 8" flashing beacons next to the X signs, most new installs here use 12" beacons.
