Closeup of a Cooper OV-25 FCO
Street side socket. O.o And the SAME Reflector as an OVD/OVY/OVF!

What a surprise, to me at least.

I emptied my cache, it still worked though...
LilCinnamon   [Jul 18, 2011 at 02:55 AM]
I wonder why this has the same reflector as an OVY/D/F...
gailgrove   [Jul 18, 2011 at 02:59 AM]
They use the same lens/refractor footprint so since Westinghouse never made a FCO reflector it makes sense to use the other design that will fit.

Perhaps to save money?
streetlight98   [Jul 22, 2011 at 09:31 PM]
AHHHGGGG!! NO!!!!!! They Cooperized the OV25 too!!! Mad Rolling Eyes Confused
Form109   [Jul 22, 2011 at 10:05 PM]
well it is called the "Cooper" OV-25. Laughing
LilCinnamon   [Oct 28, 2011 at 04:55 AM]
I wanna see these get installed in Denver! xD
Silverliner14B   [Oct 28, 2011 at 06:17 AM]
I want to see them here in California too! The tilt up optics would be good for throwing light across 5+ lanes on the wide LA freeways.
mercuryvaporrocks   [Dec 06, 2011 at 12:38 PM]
It would be nice if Cooper offered this in the US.
gailgrove   [Dec 06, 2011 at 02:37 PM]
Uh they do, there are many of these in Texas...
LilCinnamon   [Dec 06, 2011 at 07:43 PM]
It would actually be nice if they offered these on their REGULAR catalog.
streetlight98   [Dec 06, 2011 at 08:57 PM]
Yeah. Give the OVD, OVX, and OVZ the boot and let the OV15 and OV25 back! I don't agree with using tilted optics with FCO though. It doesn't look good. So I guess the OVG/H and OVY/F would be staying if it were up to me. Razz
mercuryvaporrocks   [Dec 06, 2011 at 10:07 PM]
The OVZ isn't bad, however the HPS OVX's are a nightmare to maintain which is why some utility companies don't buy them anymore.
gailgrove   [Dec 06, 2011 at 10:12 PM]
Not bad you say ... on my grandmother's street 3 of the 12 OVZs have already fail after only a year and a half of use. Rolling Eyes
joe_347V   [Dec 06, 2011 at 11:04 PM]
Rolling Eyes I've noticed that Coopers tend to have early failures too. I wonder if that's why my
area seemed to have switched to AEL recently.
gailgrove   [Dec 06, 2011 at 11:29 PM]
Two of the failures where lamps, the other was the PC blowing out of the receptacle. 250 watt 115s seem to have a lot of early failures too, of the five installed at the intersection your lights came from two are already cycling. Rolling Eyes
streetlight98   [Dec 07, 2011 at 12:12 AM]
@ Niall and Joe, the Cooper OVZs here don't cycle badly. Your areas are most likely using garbage lamps. I was referrign to the current Coopers being unappealing, not crappy performance. If Cooper starts making tons of OV15 and OV25, those lights will be just as bad as the current ones, but they'll at least look nicer.
Form109   [Dec 07, 2011 at 12:38 AM]
it's a "Cooper" Reflector to me.
streetlight98   [Dec 07, 2011 at 01:03 AM]
That's pretty obvious that this a Cooper reflector....
lightingfan8902   [Feb 03, 2021 at 08:08 PM]
This is the Cooper OVW, if you already know. Wink
