Green Means....Hurry up before the light Turns Yellow
not Really...Green means go of course...Yellow means Caution, and Red Means Stop Obviously

those are Older LED Modules with the Individual 5 mm LED's...New LED's use Several Higher Wattage (5 MW-1 W) LED's Placed behind a Plastic Lense...which in the Case of Dialights and GELcores..it makes them have a classical incandescent look to them.

Streetlight is a Cooper OVF which is a Popular Interstate Fixture in Texas along with the OVY...now to be Replaced with Cooper OV-25's and GE M400R2-FCO's.

The multi 5mm led lamps have a nice failure mode, as various strings of lamps go out and you get patterns thoughout the unit. The older ones get bigger and bigger black patches as time goes on

i do Notice that....they Flicker too...so you'll see a Black Patch light up...flicker for a few seconds...go out then Repeat that again....they look ugly when they Fail...so thank goodness for the newer ones that Replicate Incandescent. Smile

In my area, I've only seen the green LEDs failing for some reason, and quite often too! I don't remember ever seeing any red ones fail.

Green is the One i see Fail Most often too...dunno why though.

I have seen the animated pedestrian walk signs that fail in a interesting strobing fashion. They flash a rapid repeat instead of the scrolling walker.

Yellow means stop if possible, not "caution" Wink

Solid Yellow– A yellow signal light means "CAUTION."

Look at the ends of the masts....you could actually fit a streetlight on that!
Form109   [Jul 15, 2011 at 04:57 PM]
Intreasting observation, never even thought of that.
joe_347V   [Jul 15, 2011 at 08:16 PM]
I've seen streetlights mounted using traffic signal arms here before!
