Yeah I would also have went with this over a no name brand. I believe the silver disc inside is a getter, basically something to absorb oxygen.

Nice! Sylvania HPS lamps are decent. They don't seem to last as long as the GEs around here, but the GEs are also from the 90s and 00s. They only started using the Sylvania lamps around 2007-2010 here, using GEs until that point. The GEs here tend to last longer IMO, but Sylvania's HPS lamps still seem OK.

That round thingie is the getter to make the envelope a hard vacuum to provide maximum lighting efficiency.

Got it off eBay for my GE M250R2...decided to go with this over a no-name lamp that was a couple $ cheaper.

Haven't tested it yet.
