Inside of the Cooper OVZ
Here's the insides of the OVZ. Seems more roomy than the 250W M-250R2s. I don't like the M-250R2s in 250W since they're just too cramped. The OVZ is still cramped but it just seems less cramped in my opinion lol. Perhaps it's just the placement of the items. Cooper mounted the ballast nice and straight. GE mounts their ballasts crooked.

The ballast layout looks a lot like the original layout in my R47 which was also originally 250w HPS. I still have all the original parts but I like MV more and getting a real MV cobra is next to impossible here.

Yeah I hear ya. I don't really have a use for 250W HPS lights, but I will be keeping them original. I was thinking of changing the M-400's ballast to 400W MH/MV or 400W PSMH but the ballast itself still looks shiny and new and the light is in great shape and I just decided to keep it original. Gonna buy a replacement capacitor on eBay for $10 plus shipping. No use for a big 400W HPS either but still cool to have a big guy like that around, especially since it's a NGrid light! Makes it more "authentic" to me for some reason lol. If it was from a private lot or out of state or something I probably would have retrofitted it. The NEMA tag is really high quality too like an AEL or Cooper NEMA tag compared to GE's usual crappy quality NEMA tags.

Yeah, I kept my OVF all original since it was a new in box light when I got it. That being said, I also don't really have much use for a 400w HPS light. It's unpainted so it's pretty much what was installed around here right before they mass changed out everything to LED.

Yeah I'd never alter an NOS light unless it would remain OEM with NOS parts (like when I added the PC socket to my OVX and rewired it to 120V from 480v, which was as simple as moving a slip-on connector lol).
