Prescolite Exit Sign

eBay find, it's NOS but missing the backplate. I do have the orignal sales receipt from 1981 though lol.

this has a open style faceplate where the background of the sign is also illuminated. Chicago has a requirement to use similar styled exit signs. Anyway, I don't think this style saw use here in Ontario. This one is incandescent but I think fluorescents might look better in this style sign. You can't can't use standard exit sign LED retrofits in them too, the red light will reduce the visibility. A white LED retrofit kit designed for Chicago exit signs or the running man style signs would work. For display purposes a candelabra LED in a bayonet adapter will also work.
