Regent 120V PC
Here's a older Regent branded photocontrol that came with a yardlight, this one is more like the grey Designer's Edge one that I also have instead of the clear thermal ones that come with newer yardlights. There's some sort of relay inside that does the switching instead of a bi metal strip so this one responds instantly to light.

some of our streetlights have those Instant Response PC's so during storms they are constantly shut off by the Lightning.

These have an electromagnetic relay in the instant response PC's. This looks like it could be a Fisher Pierce PC branded with the Regent name.

Ahhhh. This is when companies acutally used real photocells.

Yeah I believe this yard light was from 2000, now they come with those cheap slim translucent PCs or even those hardwired button PCs.

The translucent ones aren't bad. I usually gut those and turn them into shorting caps because they die so easily.

I don't like how the translucent ones let in light from all sides. It causes it to turn on much later.

That's not a bad thing. I don't like them because they're ugly; you see all the componets inside. Luckily the Lowe's near me sells these for $10. Thes are instant response and although not really that light sensative, these things are built like a bull. They have line surge protection too. The photocells are made by Touch and Glow, but are in a Utilitech box. for those that don't know, Utilitech doesn't make any light fixtures or products at all, they distribute them.

I usually don't use PCs on my lights since I prefer to bypass the PC sockets on mine but if I did I prefer using the grey ones since they match the fixture imo.

I believe the Lowe's in Canada doesn't sell the Utilitech PCs though, I know they don't sell the MH yardlights too, and yeah Utilitech is a private label brand of Lowe's.

I Had an Intermatic LC4536C and it was a Nice Photocell,I Like the Translucent housing PC's.

Iactually tend to add photocells so that I have the option if i want it. I prefer blue photocells as it's my favorite color. I like cotrast between things rather than everything being the same. In my opinion, if everythings the same, it becomes boring.

Blue Photocells look Nice....Grey tends to blend in with the fixture...now lets get some lime green ones! Laughing

Rather than bypassing the PC socket, I have two dayburning 240V photocontrols, they work very good as shorting caps!

Well I do have a green photocontrol! Right here!

The greys look pretty good on a silver fixture, blue PCs on a silver fixture seems a bit odd for me. Razz

Really, I like the blue PC on my OV25. Looks nice.
