NOS Sylvania GTE F20T12/WW Lamp (please date this)
looks to be an earlier GTE incarnation, as all thirty lamps have the old lifeline endcaps. Man, Andy was right, warm white is pretty yucky! Too pink! It's like the fluorescent version of westie BeautyTone lamps but a much drabber yellowed down pink lol. they were only a dollar a lamp ($30 for the case) so it's not a bad deal. Plus i think i can live with the pinkish light lol. All the spare lamps i pulled out of an open (but identical) case were all 3500K lamps.

They have a TON of fluorescent lamps but it's mostly altos, T8s and T5s. They had a stash of used ballasts too. a few F40T12 277V ballasts, one or two 120V ones, and a couple giant F96T12 ballasts. i didn't get any though since i only brough 35 bucks and spent it all on 35 lamps lol.

That's the price Restore sells lamps here at, I have a older Sylvania /WW with the X etch. Not that much of a /WW fan too, unless it's in a indirect light. For direct lighting I prefer 3500K and up. Razz

Yeah i like 3500K to 5000K but prefer 3500K and cool white.

For me the higher the color temp, the better although I can live with warm white...now you know what it's like with having a bunch of those lamps...I have dozens of warm white Mainlighters...
streetlight98   [Apr 22, 2013 at 01:52 AM]
how many /WW mainlighters did you originally have altogether? did you ever count an exact number? the philips alto lamps i got from my grandpa are a warmish color (either warm white or soft white) and they're not pink at all. perhaps they're triphosphor?

Yeah probably triphsphor. My August 1997 Philips F20T12/WW is pinkish halophosphate warm white...
Never counted but several dozen....I guess I need to count! (and test them all...)
