My New Undercabinet Light! It came with an NOS Philips cool white lamp (it's pictured running a new GE EcoLux F20T12 i had bought a while ago, which was also unused until now) This is now mounted on the top rack of the storage rack so it lights the rack below the top. It had a choke inside which looks pretty old but the fixture looks rather new. It's old enough to have a real ballast and starter though which is the reason i bought it. there were electronic manual preheat T8 ones that i left. There were real preheat F13T5 undercabinet lights but they were missing the diffusers and i didn't know how common the lamps were. Oddly enough they all had FS-4 starters too. I also found a F30T12/RS undercabinet light missing the diffuser that i probably should've bought since I've never seen a 3ft fluoro fixture before but i didn't buy it. There were some beat up troffers too for nine bucks a pop but i passed on them. Keywords: American_Streetlights

Yeah this one seems really well-built. It's supposed to be hardwired but i added a cord.

Nice, I have some newer F15 versions of this. Mine are still preheat but they have hard wired starters. Confused

F13T5 fixtures are pretty rare here (or at least the real preheat ones) they use a similar step up ballast as F30 and F40 lamps so they need the FS-4 starter. If they're cheap you might want to consider grabbing them for the ballasts and parts for use in future projects.

I'm not sure about the US but F13T5 lamps are quite common here in /WW and /CW. /D and other colours are also made but are pretty rare here.

Hmm. I'll get a couple nest time then lol. Yep they have big Robertson ballasts and have metal-cased FS-4 starters. I didn't know T5s beyond 8W were ever preheat. How long are F13T5s? They were two bucks a pop IIRC. I guess I'll get those and the F30T12 undercabinet light the next time i go. Smile If they had the diffusers i would have grabbed them. The one above was the only non-electronic one with a diffuser.

Cool, the F13T5s are around 21" long. If you get them see if you can make a mini T5 striplight using the Restore parts. Cool

Well, the undercabinet lights are complete minus the lenses but i suppose i could get creative and make a shoplite with two or three lamps. Very Happy

If i can figure out how i can make a decent looking fixture I'll definetly make McCann Lighting tags and make a spec sheet for it and installation instructions too. Cool Maybe if i can get some sheet metal my grandpa could help me since he repairs cars he must have some sort of machine to bend metal. I'd probably make a very basic design. I'll draw a picture of what i have in mind when i get the chance and post it. Smile
